iGuide for for New Students
From computer lab locations and iLearn to setting up a Webmail address, UCR's iGuide has everything new students need to know about the technology and computer resources at their fingertips. We have also included links to information about computing resources available through other organizations on campus, such as the RESNET and the library.
Residence Hall Networking
Technology and technological support are more important than ever to student success. The Residential Housing technology team, with support from Computing and Communications, has developed a comprehensive approach designed to ensure all students have immediate access to the university's high-speed network.
iLearn
iLearn is your online access to class notes, discussion boards, announcements, and other class materials. With more than 1,100 classes currently online, most, if not all, of your classes will be posted on iLearn.
Computer Labs
Whether you prefer to work on a PC or a Mac, just need to type a Word document, or need to edit a film project in Final Cut Pro, the student computer labs are here to support you. We offer 200 computers in six public computer lab locations open a total of 285 hours per week.
Library Computer Resources
The UCR Libraries offer public computers loaded with software as well as laptop computers that can be checked out and used within the library.
Wireless Network
With nearly 500 wireless access points, UCR has an extensive wireless network that continues to expand and improve to better serve the UCR community. With a laptop and a wireless adapter, you can escape the confines of the dorm room and work freely with Internet access while you drink coffee in the commons or take notes during a lecture.
Wireless Network coverage exists wherever you see this sign.
